Contact Me

Thank you for taking the time to explore my website. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Yonatan. I am currently employed by the New York City Board of Education. For the past year, while completing my Masters at CW Post Campus of Long Island University, I have been teaching high school students in the Bronx.

While my undergraduate degree was a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education, my Master’s degree is in Technology in Education. With this degree I plan on being able to teach technology skills to students and helping schools incorporate technology into their teacher’s daily lesson plans as a mode for teaching the curriculum.

In training to be able to help the schools do this, I studied in a special program at Post entitled TEAM: Technology, Education, and Multimedia. According to the program's website description, "T.E.A.M. is a 36 credit, unique, two-year degree program culminating in a Master's of Science degree in Computers in Education. T.E.A.M. cohorts of about 25-30 students are comprised of select groups of educators interested in playing key roles in shaping and building learning communities for the 21st century. T.E.A.M. is a collaborative, constructivist, knowledge building model for teaching and learning."

While in the program I learned how to use many different technological applications. Please browse through the different projects I have done using Macromedia Dream Weaver, Macromedia Flash, and Macromedia Fireworks, as well as Microsoft Power Point.

I also studied and did lessons on many different theories of Education including the Behaviorism, Cognitivism and Constructivism theories. While each of these theories has its benefits and disadvantages, I relate most closely to the Constructivism Theory of Education.

While in this program, I had a special experience called "Camp." Here I was able to work in a collaborative group to build a website. This was a special experience as I got to work with students who had been in the program for over a year while others were in the same position as me, and just beginning the program. Working as a team we built a website giving sightseers the ability to see the Hamptons through the arts by, "Experiencing the Arts of Southampton."

I also had an opportunity to experience "Camp" a second time the following summer. In the second year of camp I was one of the more experienced students, allowing me to experience the program in a whole different light. This time we built a website which gives site visitors the ability to hear the sounds of the Hamptons, "Long Island 'Sounds': You don't need EYES to See the East End."
